How Should We Pray

"How should we pray?
Oh, what should we say?"
The disciples asked Jesus one day.

Now what should we say?
For what should we pray?
Jesus taught us the way.

Pray to the Father in heaven
Honor and hallow His name
Pray for the church – the kingdom of God
The kingdom of power which came.

Pray for our daily bread
The daily food that we eat.
And pray that we – may forgive others’ debts
and receive His forgiveness sweet.

And pray that we won’t be lead
Into temptation’s way
And pray that He – will deliver us still
away from evil today.

And pray that His will be done
His will, not ours, that is
For the kingdom – glory and power
forever and ever are His.

Oh – what should we say?
For what should we pray?
Jesus taught us the way!

The things are the same
But the kingdom came
and we pray "in Jesus’ name"!
